Initiatives
Our common goal is to help all our children thrive.
The PTA helps to provide portable air purifiers in our Paxson classrooms. Purifiers reduce indoor exposure to fine particulate matter (think wildfire smoke) and protect teachers and children from airborne viruses. These complemented the newly installed ionizers that MCPS installed in the main school ventilation system in 2020!
The PTA supports the FRC, which works to assist students and families with school enrollment, resources, transportation, supplies, food, and clothing for eligible families in transitional housing situations. Contact Melanie Matelich at mamatelich@mcpsmt.org for more info.
Pep Can is a container filled with fun, all-inclusive games created by a Missoula mom! We are looking for volunteers to spend time with the Paxson kindergarten through 5th grade students and facilitate the PEP Can activities throughout the lunch recess.
Each fall we donate $10 per student to each classroom for those extras that our teacher’s budgets don’t cover. But what if teachers could get funds for bigger items or innovative projects that inspire our students’ passions even more? Join the PTA to support our school!
Safe, healthy, connected to nature
The conversation began in 2016 with a small group of parents and now through the dedication and support of our community, an idea is becoming reality! Paxson teachers, administration, students, and the parent community are working together to make Paxson Elementary a great place to be, and we thank you for your support in making this dream of an updated playground for many to enjoy. So many ways we serve
Our mission is to work together for children and families through education, leadership, communication and advocacy. With your support we are able to provide these amazing opportunities:
The Missoula Children’s Theater residency was made possible by you, our community, through the Paxson PTA.
